New Associate Professor in the Catalysis Group
– Welcome Dr. Felix Herold!

We warmly welcome Dr. Felix Herold to our department as a new Associate Professor in the Catalysis Group.

Felix studied Chemistry at the Technical University of Darmstadt in Germany, where he graduated in 2016 with a Master's degree focusing on Chemical Technology. He then pursued a PhD in Chemical Technology at the same university, which he defended in 2021.

From 2021 to 2024, Felix was a postdoctoral researcher in the Catalysis Group at NTNU/IKP. During his PhD and postdoc, he conducted research stays at the Shenyang National Lab for Material Science in China, the University of Cape Town in South Africa, and Stanford University in the USA.

Since October 2024, Felix has served as group leader at the Institute for Power-to-X Technologies at Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg in Germany. His research focuses on the development of catalytic (model) materials to study structure-performance relationships, combining chemical engineering approaches with nanotechnology and spectroscopy.

Welcome to us, Felix!
