TRANSIT
Transition into Teaching for Inclusive and Diverse Learning (TRANSIT)
In TRANSIT we will develop and test inclusive and cooperative practices to help early career teachers with their transition from education to profession. We will share best practices through joint experiences, discussions and reflections on how to support and include early career teachers. In-service teachers need to be able to deploy efficient transition processes whilst maintaining sensitivity to cultural and other differences. Despite the limitations of Erasmus+ funding in addressing major educational questions, we are ambitious and highly committed to making this project work for the benefit of all. As we describe below, it builds on a legacy of other Erasmus+ projects that have systematically worked towards internationalizing teacher education, with an overall focus on student outcomes achieved through better teaching and learning, delivered by highly skilled teachers and informed by research.
The objectives of TRANSiT are to:
- strengthen and professionalise transition from education to practice
- identify and map strengths and weaknesses in how local transition processes prepare early career teachers to cater for diverse and inclusive learning needs among pupils in school:
- inclusion and integration of early career teachers in the profession
- their ability to include all pupils in school. (Both through building learning communities in practice)
- develop competences among student teachers and in-service teachers to build and sustain learning communities in practice
- design innovative learning units to embed transition practices into schools and teacher education at partner institutions and beyond
