Ringve Botanical Garden

Practical Information

Ringve Botanical garden is always open any time of year. Entrance is free of charge.

Ringve is situated on the Lade peninsula, ca. 3 km east of Trondheim city centre.

Getting to the Garden:

By bus: Bus 3 and 4 runs from the city centre to the Garden. The closest bus stop is Ringve museum (north entrance to the Garden) or Fagerheim allé (east entrance to the Garden). Bus tables.


By car: There are signs for Ringve from E6, both from northbound and southbound directions. The main parking is at the north entrance of the Garden, in Olav Engelbrektssons allé. There are signs for the parking area when one approaches the garden.


By foot or bicycle: It takes about 1 hour to walk to Ringve Botanical Garden from the main square in the city centre. There is a bicycle track that runs for most of the distance, from the main square, over Solsiden, along Svartlamon and up Lade allé to Lade church and further along Lade allé to the garden. 


Garden rules:

It is allowed to have picnics on the benches and lawns of the garden.

Café Victoria is situated at Ringve Museum and is open when the museum is open. WC at the museum.

Most areas and paths in the garden are suitable for wheelchairs, but there are some steep areas.

No barbeque or ball games.

Please respect the plants and other visitors.
