DiverSea News - Estuarine & Coastal Sciences Association Meeting 2026

DIVERSEA IS PLEASED TO SUPPORT THE 2026 ESTUARINE & COASTAL SCIENCES ASSOCIATION CONFERENCE
ECSA61: Bridging the gap between science and policy in estuarine and coastal marine biodiversity: the way forward
24-27 August 2026 – Brussels, Belgium
DiverSea is pleased to be a supporter of the upcoming ECSA61 conference. The conference aims to connect marine scientists and policy-makers to respond to the triple planetary crisis of climate change, biodiversity loss, and pollution. It emphasizes the ways that the planet's estuaries, coasts and seas are critical for both planetary health and societal welfare.
The conference will close with a special 'Science-meets-Policy' day (27 August 2026), where researchers will have the opportunity to discuss the applications of their work with managers and decision-makers from Europe and beyond.
Now accepting proposals for Special Sessions! In addition to the conference program of general sessions, proposals are invited for Special Sessions to further shape the direction of the conference. Special Session proposals are due on 24 November and can be submitted here.
General abstract submission will open in January 2026.
