New eDNA analysis publication out now - DiverSea News

NEW DIVERSEA PUBLICATION ON eDNA ANALYSIS OUT NOW IN PNAS
A newly released publication by DiverSea coordinator Glenn Dunshea and colleagues explores the spatial scale of biodiversity captured by samples of environmental DNA. Understanding the relationship between eDNA samples and the spatial and temporal distribution of organisms is a critical piece of the puzzle in DiverSea's objective of using eDNA to monitor biodiversity.
The work was led by Francesc Borràs Sayas (Uppsala University), and Glenn Dunshea (NTNU) and Robert Muscarella (Uppsala University) were senior authors on the research. The eDNA samples in this study were collected from the soil of tropical rainforests in Puerto Rico, but the analysis methods developed for the work have broad application in terms of integrating eDNA datasets with other survey data and appraising different aspects of eDNA classification performance, including in marine research.
