The Department of Mathematical Sciences (IMF) offers education in mathematical sciences at bachelor and master level, as well as a one-year programme. The department also offers a PhD programme in mathematical sciences.

IMF is responsible for the basic education in mathematics at NTNU. The department provides all the mathematics courses for the programmes in civil engineering and the engineering students at Gjøvik and in Trondheim, including preparatory courses for engineering students.
