The purpose of WP2 is to establish an innovation pipeline that applies frontier research results to industrial and societal challenges, which is achieved through NICE's Applied Partner Themes (APT). Initially, the focus is on four APT's:

APT1: Battery-less AI-capable IoT nodes

Lead: Snorre Aunet (NTNU)

Objective: Develop a cost-efficient battery-less Edge AI sensor platform.

APT2: Collaborative multi-modal Edge AI

Lead: Tom Ivar Brate (NTNU)

Objective: Demonstrate collaborative and multi-modal Edge AI in smart transport.

APT3: AI-powered always-on sensing

Lead: Philipp Häfliger (UiO)

Objective: Demonstrate highly cost-efficient battery-powered always-on Edge AI capabilities.

APT4: AI-enabled sensing for autonomous systems

Lead: Milica Orlandic (NTNU)

Objective: Enable holistically optimized power-limited Edge AI in autonomous systems.
