NORDAB - Norwegian Doctoral Academy in Business

The Norwegian Doctoral Academy in Business is a research initiative for PhD students within Economic-Administrative disciplines.
NORDAB is a collaboration between 14 member institutions, where we aim to strengthen doctoral education across institutions by coordinating doctoral courses with high international quality, enhancing offerings for small academic fields, and fostering national and international networking.
As a student or academic professional at one of our member institutions, you are welcome to attend any of our activities or courses. You are also welcome to apply for funding for courses, seminars or workshops that aligns with our mission.
New NORDAB supported course: Designing and Executing Engaged Organizational Research
We are pleased to announce a new NORDAB supported PhD-level course at Molde University College (HiMolde): DRL038 - Designing and Executing Engaged Organisational Research (5 ECTS).
The course addresses how researchers can collaborate with organizations to investigate and solve complex real-world challenges while producing rigorous academic research. Participants will learn how to design engaged research projects, gain organizational access, navigate ethical and practical challenges, and develop publication strategies for practice-based research.
The course combines interactive lectures, workshops, practitioner sessions, and research design consultations.

New NORDAB supported course: Contemporary Streams of Institutional Theory in Management and Accounting
We are pleased to highlight a new NORDAB-supported PhD-level course at Nord University, offered by Nord University and Norwegian School of Economics:
ECO9004 – Contemporary Streams of Institutional Theory in Management and Accounting.
This course offers an in-depth exploration of contemporary developments in institutional theory and their application in management and accounting research. It focuses particularly on key streams such as institutional logics, institutional entrepreneurship, and institutional work, as well as the opportunities and challenges of combining these perspectives in research.
The course is organized as an intensive five-day program, combining lectures, discussions, and participant paper presentations. Each day is dedicated to a specific theme, allowing participants to engage deeply with both theoretical developments and their application to ongoing research projects.
Designed for PhD candidates, the course provides an opportunity to strengthen theoretical foundations, critically engage with current literature, and connect institutional perspectives to individual research. Active participation and written reflection assignments are central components of the course.
