Views from Trondheim: Nidaros Cathedral, the old wharves and the old town bridge

Trondheim is the third largest city in Norway, and has many names. It’s a city of students, technology, history, culture, cycling and food. The 30,000 students, most of whom attend the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), leave their mark on the city and contribute to a high level of innovation and a vibrant cultural life. The population is 190 000.

Trondheim, formerly called Nidaros, was Norway's capital from 1030 to 1217. The city has played a key role in Norway’s history, and the Nidaros Cathedral has been a popular pilgrimage site for nearly 1000 years.
