Trondheim - A City full of History and Technology

Trondheim - A City full of History and Technology

undefined

Trondheim, formerly called Nidaros, was Norway's capital from 1030 to 1217.

The city has played a key role in Norway’s history, and the Nidaros Cathedral has been a popular pilgrimage site for nearly 1000 years.

The picture avove is taken at the Old Town Bridge that crosses Nidelva and separates Midtbyen from Bakklandet. Here you can see the beautiful wood houses of Bakklandet that are seated parallel to Nidelva. We highly recommend taking a walk along the Nedre Bakklandet and Øvre Bakklandet cobblestone streets that go alongside these houses to take a break from the turbulence of the city centre and look at all the cafe's and shops that are there.

From Bakklandet there's only a small walk to get to the Kristiansten Fortress, which proudly overlooks the city of Trondheim, providing a gorgeous view of the city.
