The project Digital Internationalisation in Vocational Education (DIVE) is a collaboration between Norwegian University of Science and Technology (Norway), Karlstad University (Sweden), Technical University of Berlin (Germany) and Akdeniz University (Turkey). The project is funded by the Erasmus+ KA2 Strategic Partnerships and is coordinated by the Department of Teacher Education at NTNU.

The COVID-19 pandemic has prevented the normal flow of student mobility in many areas, including Vocational Education and Training (VET) and Vocational Teacher Education (VTE). It has also forced digitalisation further up the agenda of all schools, universities and other educational institutions. The DIVE-project will explore three overarching themes, which are democracy and citizenship in International Vocational education (IVE), sustainable development in IVE, and values in IVE. Within the concept of ‘Internationalisation at Home’, teacher students will collaborate in local and international colloquiums, in both physical and virtual spaces. The DIVE project has the primary goal of supporting VTE-teachers’ students in developing and strengthening intercultural competence, English speaking skills, digital competence, and global awareness within the three overarching themes.

The DIVE-project will furthermore make use of pre-existing online courses developed in the previous OPVET-project (2017-2020), and will develop a guide to embedding Internationalisation at Home in VET. It will also create online courses that promote the themes of the project. The DIVE-project starts officially on 1. March 2021 and ends on 28. February 2023.
