Welcome to ISIE 2027 in Trondheim

The Biennial Conference of The International Society for Industrial Ecology (ISIE2027) will be arranged at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Trondheim, Norway.

ISIE 2027 invites the global industrial ecology community to explore A Shared Space for Humans and Nature. Echoing the “Spaceship Earth” metaphor, which highlights the finite resources and interconnected systems that support life, the conference emphasizes our collective responsibility to steward the ecosystems on which we depend. As the intrinsic links between humanity, biodiversity, and the built environment gain overdue recognition, ISIE 2027 will address the full breadth of industrial ecology research and applications. This includes examining the pressures on shared socio-ecological spaces through MFA, LCA and EE-MRIO, while also showcasing innovative strategies for regenerative and resilient management, from circular economy interventions and nature-positive supply-chain redesign to industrial symbiosis, green infrastructure planning, and ecosystem-service–based decision support.
