The Research project: NFR 221643/E20 Energy efficient up-grading of historical villages. Hou Ji village, Ping Yao area, China

The reserach project "Energy efficient up-grading of  historical villages" with support from the  Norwegian Council of Research, (NFR), has had as a main objective to develop reserach co-operation with high level Chinese research institutions. The project is based on a continuous collaboration between NTNU and Chinese partners since 1989. 

Main objectives of the project: 

1. Improve research collaboration between NTNU and Chinese partners and initiative the development of joint reserach centre. 

2. develop knowledge, methdods and design guidelines for energy upgrading of valuable historic buildings in Ping Yao area,  Shanxi Province. 

Secondary objective: Help solve local problems caused by migration of valuable, historic homes in Hou Ji village, Ping Yao area, Shanxi Province.
