This informal discussion driven session features brief introductions to recently published Perspectives papers (vol. 9, June 2026), serving as starting points for reflection on current and future directions in information fusion. The moderator will spark discussion, with strong audience engagement encouraged in a relaxed, collegial atmosphere.
This first session in 2026 offers a moment of introspection, looking back at the evolution of neural networks in data fusion while reflecting on where the field is heading. By combining historical insights, current advances, and a pragmatic perspective on data-driven methods, it invites participants to connect past lessons with future directions.
