15th IIR-Gustav Lorentzen Conference on Natural Refrigerants 2022
The 15th Gustav Lorentzen Conference on Natural Refrigerants was organized at NTNU-SINTEF Campus – Trondheim, Norway from 13 to 15 June 2022. The theme put up for the conference was The Natural Choices by 2030. The conference successfully contributes to bringing forward solutions based on natural working fluids for applications within Refrigeration, Air Conditioning, Heat Pumps, and Heat Engines. The strategy of replacing CFC, HCFC and HFC chemicals with natural fluids was extensively applied to an increasing extent by the refrigeration, air-conditioning, and heat pump industry, supported by several research groups and organizations.
IIT Madras jointly with IISc Bengaluru and NTNU Norway organized a 5-day virtual workshop from 10/10/22 to 14/10//22 titled “SPARC online workshop on CO2 refrigeration systems: Fundamentals, Advancements, and Applications” as part of our SPARC project. The intended workshop is meant to disseminate knowledge on CO2 refrigeration and heat pump systems and their potential applications. All the attendees of the workshop, practicing engineers, consultants, industry personnel and students benefited from this emerging technology in the field of Heating, Ventilating, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVAC&R). 12 Indian speakers and 04 International speakers have contributed to the workshop by delivering the lectures each 1 hour. Nearly 100 members actively participated in the workshop.
Refcold India 2022
The 5th edition of RefCold India was held at Gandhinagar, Gujarat from December 8 to 10, 2022 with “Optimizing Cold-chain Logistics in Food & Pharma Sectors” as the focal theme. The objective was to bring into focus the latest refrigeration technology and advancement in the food processing sector. Highlighted India’s commitment to sustainability in the cold chain such as agriculture food production, food processing, and refrigerated transportation. The three-day event was organized by ISHRAE, attended by delegates from India and foreign countries, and witnessed discussion on the current issues and challenges in global warming and climate change.
INDEE+ Educational Trips 2022
INDEE+ Team at Norway
This trip was the Norwegian contribution to the work package on "Support recovery, recycling, reclamation and disposal of refrigerant gases in India" of the INDEE+ project, which is performed jointly between Council on Energy, Environment and Water (CEEW) and Norwegian Environment Agency (NEA). It was decided to widen the scope of gases and usages covered to include SF6 and some usages outside of the refrigeration sector. INDEE+ project: Indian Study Visit to Norway (13th to 18th June 2022).
