The Future Refrigeration India: INDEE+ was an Indo-Norwegian project funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) Norway and coordinated by the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), Norway.

INDEE+ aimed to demonstrate eco-friendly natural refrigerants—such as ammonia (NH₃), carbon dioxide (CO₂), and hydrocarbons—to promote clean, sustainable, and reliable heating and cooling solutions for the future heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC&R) sector in India.

The outcomes of INDEE+ were intended to support India’s commitment to achieving the goals of the Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol and the Paris Agreement on climate change. See overview of highlights, knowledge outputs and recommendations.

A new phase of the project, INDEE3 has now begun, building on the achievements and learnings of INDEE+.
