Energy Transition Norway
Nuclear Energy in Norway: Will It Strengthen Energy Security? Status and Challenges
This workshop explores the role of nuclear energy in Norway in the context of energy security and the future energy system. Through research-based perspectives, system-level analysis and a concrete project case, the session will examine both the potential and the challenges of nuclear power in a Norwegian setting.
The workshop aims to move beyond general statements and contribute to a realistic, evidence-based discussion of issues such as energy security, costs and uncertainty, fuel supply, long-term waste management and institutional requirements. Bringing together researchers, industry representatives and decision-makers, the session offers a politically neutral arena for informed dialogue on whether and how nuclear energy could contribute to a secure and sustainable future energy system.
