Biofuels and efuels - land use, climate effect
Biofuels and efuels - land use, climate effect
The roundtable aims to facilitate dialogue on the complex challenges and opportunities associated with biofuels and e-fuels for a sustainable energy transition. Key discussion points include how to balance climate change mitigation opportunities, land use, and associated biodiversity concerns. Are our current biofuel policies, certification schemes, and regulations adequate? What is the potential role of e-fuels in climate change mitigation and are there reasons for concern over the land use associated with wind and solar energy to produce these fuels? Can we sustainably scale up these industries and are the industrial actors ready for the task? How do we best govern the role of biofuels and e-fuels in the energy transition?
