Dr. Marie Jaroni

Thyssenkrupp Steel aims to save six million tons of CO₂ every year until 2030. Dr. Marie Jaroni, their Head of Decarbonization, helped developed the strategy behind the endeavour. She is tasked with making the steel green in the future and thereby responsible for removing 2.5 % of Germany's CO₂ emissions - playing a key role in helping Germany achieve its goal of climate neutrality.

Jaroni studied metallurgy and material engineering and got her PhD at RWTH Aachen University, before engaging with several industries through consultant work.
