In the first part of the project, we aim to draw from the experience of institutions and academic libraries in other countries, that have made more progress in the pursuit towards Open Science, and in particular Open Data and research data management.

Workshop 27 September 2019

Workshop 27. September 2019

The project organized a workshop at the University of Stavanger on 27 September 2019 with focus on “Research data and organization of library support services - From knowledge to action”. Employees from Norwegian research libraries (both universities and other research institutes) were invited to discuss and share their experiences through group and plenary discussions. At the end of the workshop a presentation about Open Science and DMP at the Aalto University in Finland was held by Anne Maarit Sunikka, head of Open Science and ACRIS (Aalto’s research information system).

Study trip February 2019

Study trip February 2019; Australia and New Zealand

The project group is visiting various University Libraries in Australia and New Zealand, all of which offer services and support for researchers, including research data, publishing and Open Science. We have chosen to visit universities of different sizes and research profiles, and the libraries have varied experience as well as differences in the services they provide. It will also be of interest to see the library services within the context of national frameworks for research and higher education, and compare this to the situation in Norway.

Workshop 26 October 2018

The project organized a start-up workshop at NTNU Trondheim on 26 October 2018. Representatives from several university libraries presented their services for Open Science and research data and shared some of their experience. In addition, the expectations and requirements that researchers and institutions in Norway face were addressed. The workshop was open for attendance by interested parties outside the project group (limited availability).
