I am a professor in the Mohn Centre for Innovation and Regional Development at the Western Norway University of Applied Sciences (HVL). I am Chair of the PhD programme in Responsible Innovation and Regional Development (RESINNREG). My research activities link to the directionality of responsible research and innovation and the need to account for how contextual conditions interplay with what is considered responsible. Empirically, my point of departure is that responsible innovation take place in a relational complex of discourse; organization and materiality.

An important part of my activity in AFINO is to lead the project “Responsible innovation in the Norwegian salmon farming industry: Grand Societal Challenges, Dilemmas and Improvements”. In the project, we are studying the global innovation networks dynamics of the Norwegian salmon farming industry. The project aims to facilitate co-creation of responsible innovation practices by setting up Innovation Labs. Central topics in the Labs concern UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.
