I am professor of Entrepreneurship at Stavanger Business School. I received my PhD in Management from Bodø Graduate School of Business (Norway) in 2007, specializing in entrepreneurship and innovation.

I have researched topics related to entrepreneurial intentions, innovative working behavior, factors that affect firm growth and performance, as well as regional innovation systems and their effects on new path creation and path development. My research has been disseminated through over 50 publications to date.

Recently, I have become increasingly interested in the topic of Responsible Innovation. My perspective on that concept emerges from literature on Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship, with a special focus on the role of users in innovation processes. I currently serve as the leader of the Responsible Innovation (RI) Special Interest Group (SIG) in the International Society for Professional Innovation Management (ISPIM). I was honored to lead the international research project “Digitalize or Die” on the role of users, funded by NRC, where we looked into innovations in the health and welfare sector. The project resulted in over 60 publications, as well as the book “Responsible innovation in digital health: Empowering the Patient” (Edward Elgar Publisher, 2019).

I am honored to lead the new project “Releasing the power of users” and to be a part of AFINO’s project with my research group. Our project includes researchers from seven countries: Norway, the Netherlands, UK, Portugal, Denmark, USA, and Australia. We focus on the user role in the innovation eco-system, and we will contribute with methodology development for user inclusion to the emerging Innovation Lab together with the Norwegian Smart Care Cluster.
