New master thesis projects - NorwAI Center

Invitation to propose new master thesis projects

Invitation to submit cases suitable as master’s thesis projects

Do you have an exciting case for artificial intelligence that is suited as a master’s thesis project? In collaboration with Norwegian Open AI Lab (NAIL) we now invite you to propose cases that our master’s students can work on as master’s thesis projects during the study year 2026/27.

Need more information about how to work with a student for their thesis project? Read this guidance for our partners.

Please use our template  when writing the project proposal and submit by email

  • The master's theses can be performed by individual students or in groups of two students.
  • Master's theses can be purely technical with implementation and experiments. They can address research challenges or applications of AI. We also welcome project proposals that study innovation aspects or methodological aspects of using AI.

Please submit your project as soon as possible, but no later than March 13.

Approved projects will be presented to our students at NTNU in the form of short videos that will also be made available for students on exchange abroad. AI Master Safari will take place at NTNU April 14 2026 in collaboration with the Norwegian Open AI Lab (NAIL) and the student organization BRAIN. This event is designed for students preparing to choose their thesis project and includes speed‑dating sessions with supervisors and partners, project pitches, and practical advice on how to succeed with the master’s thesis. With many projects to choose from, this event has proven effective for partners who participate, and it provides an excellent opportunity to meet and engage with AI students.
