Organization

The SmallSat Lab is a part of the Faculty of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering, hosted in collaboration between Department of Electronic Systems and the Department of Engineering Cybernetics. As most of our applied research focus on the link between technology and nature, we have a strong link to the NTNU strategic research area "Ocean and coast", especially through the associated project "Mission Mjøsa" (in Norwegian).

From 2024 the lab is part of a thematic group under the strategic area "NTNU Civil Security" under the group "Surveillance" working on mapping, monitoring and surveillance. This is important for our work related to the GNSS-R mission.

As a part of the observation pyramid, the SmallSat Lab also works in close collaboration with other labs at NTNU such as AUR-Lab, UAV-lab and AR-lab.
