To apply for CDIO-Academy, a coordinating contact person from each participating education institution needs to be present at the CDIO Conference. The coordinator will submit an application with a list of students, including names, email addresses, study program, and present year of studies.

The accepted number of students per institution is tentatively set to a maximum of 4, depending on how many institutions are interested. If more than 40 students apply overall, selection criteria (see below) will be used in the selection of participants:

Applications are to be sent by the coordinating contact person from the education institution, not by individual students. The deadline for applications is 8 March, 2023. After one week(15 March) you will be notified about admissions together with a link for payment of participation fees. The participation fee needs to be paid by credit card before 1 April.

The participation fee is 2000 NOK per student, which includes a welcoming reception and dinner on 26 June, lunch and refreshments in the period 27–29 June, and a working dinner on 28 June.

Please note: The fee does not include accommodation, transportation, or meals outside programme hours. NTNU will not cover travel or accommodation costs. Information on budget accommodation can be found on the conference website: www.ntnu.edu/cdio/budget-accommodation.

Applications are to be sent by email together with a completed Application form in a pdf format to cdioacademy2023@ntnu.no. Questions about the CDIO Academy can be addressed to the same email-address.

Participant selection criteria

  • A well-balanced representation of regions and countries around the world
  • As many engineering disciplines as possible represented
  • An as even as possible overall gender balance
  • The applications’ quality of argumentation for participation
