The conference is hosted by Centre of Molecular Inflammation Research (CEMIR). The Centre is located in Kunnskapssenteret and is a unit at the Department of Clinical and Molecular Medicine (IKOM), Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, NTNU.

The conference will be held in Kunnskapssenteret at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) and St. Olavs hospital, Trondheim University hospital.
Kunnskapssenteret is part of the new hospital area in Trondheim, chosen as the winner of the “Attractive City” award in 2015.

Flying
Trondheim Airport Værnes is approximately 30 km north east of Trondheim.
Good national and international flight connections. Frequent bus and train-connections to Trondheim. More at Avinor Transport from airport to city centre
Two different companies offer direct bus services into Trondheim, if you buy a return ticket make sure to take the same one going back.
Trondheim is also connected to the airport by train. Departure station is Trondheim lufthavn. Arrival station is Trondheim S (Sentral station), which is located just a few hundred meters from the hotel.
Train
Trondheim is also reachable by train: The Dovre railway and The Røros railway.
Taxi
There are several taxi companies, we recommend to book a taxi in advance to get the special taxi fare to Trondheim. We recommend using: Trøndertaxi (only in Norwegian)

You can also find taxi’s outside the airport, however please note that it will cost more than double the price when it is not booked in advance.
Boat
For those who want to combine the visit to Trondheim with some sightseeing, there is also the coastal steamer that travels along the Norwegian coast from Bergen to Trondheim and further north. Further information can be found at www.hurtigruten.com

The conference participants will be staying at the Comfort Hotel Park and Quality Hotel Augustin, which is located in the city centre and in walking distance to the conference venue.
There is free WiFi at the hotels. Guests may also enjoy the relaxation area with sauna, gym and view over the rooftops of Trondheim.

Organized optional activities
There are four optional tours arranged by the conference on Wednesday 5. June. To participate you may register your participation in the registration portal.
Hiking in the woods - Grønlia Cabin and optional Storheia summit
One of our greenest trips. Transportation by bus to Bymarka recreational area. We hike to the cabin, Grønlia, a popular excursion for locals. At Grønlia "Rømmegrøt" (sour cream porrigde) and cured meat will be served (traditional Norwegian dishes). You will also have the possibilty to hike up to Storheia, Trondheims highest peak, for spectacular views of the area (weather permitting). We hike back to the bus, which will bring us back to the meeting point.
Price: NOK 645,-
Capacity: Minimum 20 pax, max 120
Trip length (walking): 8 km (dirt road), an additional 5 km if you want to visit the peak of Storheia (light mountain terrain) or we hike up to the Gråkaill peak with a great view of the Trondheim Fjord.
Clothing: Walking/hiking shoes suitable for outdoors and a bit muddy if rain. Outdoor jacket (waterproof if raining).
Canoe sightseeing Nidelven
We would like to invite you on a fantastic canoe trip down the river Nidelva on its last stretch to the fjord. We experience both doctoral residences and pier row before we paddle up the canal.
Our guide will hook up with you at Studentersamfundet and then we will have a nice approx. 1.8 kilometres walk of 20 minutes up to the river edge.

RIB tour
- A Rigid inflatable boat (RIB) tour
A Canal Safari can start at our office at Kai 19 or another agreed place in Trondheim. The trip and the routines of the tour will be presented before start.
The trip includes elements of both the old and new cityscape, which makes the trip quite unique. From a new perspective, you will see elements such as the fish market at Ravnkloa, via “The Sunny Side” to the Old Town Bridge, where you also will get a glimpse of the Nidaros Cathedral. You will be equiped with floating suits, goggles, gloves and beanies. What you need yourself is footwear to use at sea and a warm sweater if the weather is cold.
