– Impact towards the UN SDGs

UN SDG

The project contributes to a substantial increase of the solar energy share (target 7.2) by increasing the use of solar systems, which have the potential to reduce air pollution and CO2 emissions. The project will also promote investments in solar technology (target 7.A) by providing information on economic and environmental benefits of installing solar systems and creating opportunities for local and national self-consumption.

UN Sustainability goal 11

The project will promote sustainable cities and communities by enabling urban planners, architects, and developers to optimise the energy efficiency of buildings, neighbourhoods and cities while minimising the negative impact on surrounding buildings. The project will contribute to pleasant outdoor areas for everyone favouring visual comfort by optimizing solar accessibility and the right of light (target 11.3 and target 11.7).

UN Sustainability goal 13

The project will boost the exploitation of solar energy at current and future climate scenarios to reduce the GHG emissions. This will (i) integrate climate change measures into Norwegian policies, strategies and planning from buildings, to neighbourhoods and cities (target 13.2); (ii) improve education, awareness-raising and human and institutional capacity on climate change mitigation, adaptation, impact reduction and early warning (target 13.3).
