Conferences

Conferences

Three joint conferences contribute to increase the knowledge among all participants; researchers, school administration and welfare services, school leaders and teachers. They represent an opportunity to exchange knowledge and ideas on educational issues linked to marginalization of children and youth. We seek to understand the possibilities and limitations that lie in the respective organization of the municipal welfare systems. We have a joint interest in learning more about factors that can reduce the risks of social exclusion.

The goal is to foster future exchange in and outside the Nordic region initiating new comparative studies and pilot projects on other issues related to the education system. These conferences will promote cross-national communication and involve our partners in the dissemination of results in regional and national networks.

Schools presentations - Spring 2020–2022

School presentations give Nordic Unequal Childhood a strong local connection. All schools participating in the study receive a customized presentation and workshop with the researchers, regarding their school-specific results. The study includes three schools in Trondheim, two schools in Tampere and four schools in Norrköping. Our aim is to discuss issues based on research findings in the field of practice. At these workshops, the school's staff will have the opportunity to ask critical questions about the research and discuss challenges and possible solutions with the research team. We believe an active dialogue with the field of practice contributes to validating results, as well as giving educators and other school professionals an opportunity to give their perspective on issues raised in the project.
