The Norwegian Research School of Global Health has the pleasure of inviting you to a writing workshop co-arranged with one of Norway’s leading newspapers, Aftenposten.

Learning outcome
- How to reach a broad audience
- How to communicate your research results
- How to use your research to take part in the public debate
- How the debate sections in the biggest newspaper work and how they choose which contributions to publish
Purpose
The course focuses on writing op-eds and other debate articles

Preparations
The course participants will submit a draft op-ed piece (4000-6000 characters) ten days before the course. The participants will receive feedback on the texts during the course. Our goal is that every participant will end up with a published text.

09.15-10.00: Introduction by Aftenposten. How do the debate section work and what are they looking for when assessing op-eds?
10.00-10.15: Break
10.15-11.00: The participants read each other’s texts
11.00-11.15: Break
11.15-12.00: The participants read and comment each other’s texts
