Welcome to the Department of Economics
Department of Economics offers teaching at all academic levels and we cover most major fields in economics. We currently have about 350 undergraduate students and 200 graduate students in seven different programmes of study.
The department has a vibrant research environment. The department publishes within the fields of development economics, econometrics, education economics, environmental economics, financial economics, labor economics, macroeconomics, political economy, and public economics.

Our PhD candidate Joakim Kvamvold receives Leiv Eriksson mobility program grant
The Research Council of Norway has given Kvamvold the grant for 2013. The Leiv Eriksson mobility program offers grants to Ph.D. students and academic personnel with a doctoral degree who are affiliated with a research institution in Norway, Canada or USA. It "aims to contribute to the long-term escalation of R&D collaboration with the USA and Canada".
