Background and activities

Elin Kvande is Professor at the Department of Sociology and Political Science at Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim. She has received over 20 major research grants with sole of joint reponsibility.She is the author or editor of 9 books, some in conjunction with others. These include The Fahers' Quota and the Fatherfriendly Welfare state (2013), Doing Gender In Flexible Organizations (2007),The Work-Life Squeeze Paradoxes in the New Working Life (2007), Gender, Bodies and Work (2005), The Freedom of Choice. The politics of Care in the Flexible Working Life (2005), Flexible Fathers (2003). She has published 44 book chapters and 29 articles peer-reviewed Journals such as Work Employment and Society,Gender Work and Employment,, Nordic Journal of Working Life Studies , Nordic Journal of Social Research, Gender in Management, Community Work and Family, Sosiologi idag, Sosiologisk Tidsskrift,Tidsskrift for kjønnsforskning.Kvandes research interests include post-bureaucratic flexible organizations, dynamics and change in gender relations in organizations, welfare state policies, fathers' use of care policies.She has had visiting appointments at Warrick University, Linkøping University and London School of Economics.
