About

Associate Professor of Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL) at the Department of Teacher Education (ILU). My research areas are Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Second Language Acquisition (SLA), bilingual teaching, Sociocultural Theory, scaffolding, observation and mixed methods.  

I am currently leader of the multidisciplinary research group  Language Practices in Education (LPE).

I am currently co-leader of the research project AIducate. It has received funding from the EXCITED center. 

Background:

I defended my Ph.D. in English didactics at the University of Southeastern Norway in May, 2020. I hold a Master's degree in English language from the University of Oslo, and am a graduate of Norwegian National Research School in Teacher Education (NAFOL).  I taught English and Norwegian as Foreign Languages for a private language company for 5 years, and worked as a Lecturer of English at USN for 4 years. In 2016, I won the competition 'Researcher to the film' at USN. In 2017, I won the semifinals for Researcher Grand Prix, and was nominated one of the top ten science communicators in Norway.  In 2019, I was a guest researcher at the University of the Basque Country.

English 2 in Grunnskolelærerutdanning (GLU) 1-7

Attitudes and Experiences toward Language Policies and Practices at NTNU

This research project investigates how NTNU employees and students experience language policies and practices, and their attitudes toward the use of Norwegian and other languages.

Artificial Intelligence for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education

The project explored faculty's beliefs, knowledge, experiences, and practices with artificial intelligence for teaching and learning in higher education.
