Course content
The course examines theory and empirical data related to the design and implementation of policies aimed at governance at both micro and macro level. Theory and empirical data are mainly from the international literature. Topics include institutions, growth and development, monetary policy, public debt and financial crises.
Learning outcome
The purpose of this course is to provide students with specialized knowledge about the design, implementation and effects of policies nationally and within a political-economical framework.
Learning methods and activities
Lectures / group discussions 4 hours per week. The essay is to be an independent discussion of a topic thaught in lectures, and is to consist of 20 pages.
If 6 or fewer students sign up for a planned course during the first 2 teaching weeks, the course will be offered as an instructed reading course.
Required previous knowledge
Master's degree in Political Science or equivalent.
