About the course
Course content
The student has a choice between two themes (3,75 sp), or one ordinary course (7,5 sp). Themes: Variational inequalities, Topology, Finite Element Method, Numerical Solution of Ordinary Differential Equations. MCMC Simulation Algorithms, Bayesian Inversion, Statistical Experimental Design, Non-parametric Statistics, Modern Financial Methods, Numerical Simulation-based Methods in Finance. Ordinary courses need an agreement with the lecturer.
Learning outcome
The course is supposed to provide additional knowledge in mathematical or statistical areas related to the chosen project (TMA4500).

The themes are given as lectures, sometimes with exercises, seminars, or as guided self-study courses.
