NTNU's Award of Honour 2023 has been awarded to researcher and entrepreneur Alf Bjørseth, for his significant contribution to Norwegian industry and the development of renewable energy in several Norwegian companies.

Rector Anne Borg presented the award at NTNU’s Doctoral Awards Ceremony on 10 March 2023.

About the Award of Honour

About the Award of Honour

NTNU’s Award of Honour is presented to people who through their life and work have contributed to NTNU’s development or made an exceptional social contribution nationally and internationally – individuals who:

  • deserve recognition because, through their personal dedication, they have been/are valuable partners for the university
  • are a role model for students and staff, showing how individuals can make a difference to society in a way that reflects NTNU’s vision of «Knowledge for a Better World».

The award may be presented to NTNU alumni.(*)

(*) Former employees are not candidates for NTNU's Award of Honour. Exceptions can only be made for persons who have been employed in adjunct positions, researcher education, or for a shorter period in their career. Persons who have a looser connection to NTNU (e.g. supervisor, examiner) can be appointed.
