Academics

Our campus in Gjøvik specializes in Information Security, Sustainable Manufacturing, Computer Science and Interaction design – all of which are full master’s programmes taught in English. For bachelor’s students, we offer courses in English within e.g. programming, graphic design, and geoscience.

Gjøvik has about 30 000 inhabitants, with students making up over 10% of the population, and is a town known for its rich music and cultural life. The beautiful nature surrounding the city is ideal for an active outdoor life.

The Foundation for Student Service in Gjøvik (SiT Gjøvik) offers four different locations for student accommodation in Gjøvik.

Practical information

After you have received admission to NTNU, you will be provided with detailed information regarding visas, housing and so on. However, we have also provided you with practical information that it might be useful to consider at the time of applying; such as living expenses, part-time work, visas and student welfare services.


Student life - Gjøvik

Student life

As a student at NTNU in Gjøvik you become part of a vibrant and active study environment. The student house Huset organizes weekly events such as quiz nights and parties, and you can join the festival UKA every semester or become part of a number of different student associations or sport groups. For international students, the International Student Union will also help you adjust to life in Norway and – of course – organize great parties and events.

New student

The Orientation Week for international students is the perfect opportunity for you to get to know NTNU and Gjøvik, and to make new friends. Student assistants will help new international students get settled.
