Centre for Advanced Structural Analysis - CASA

SFI CASA at NTNU tortures materials and structures for one purpose only: to protect.

SFI CASA 2015-2023

The SFI CASA opened on July 1st 2015.

The Centre aims to build an attractive scientific working environment where fundamental knowledge is created through multidisciplinary theoretical, numerical and experimental research on different scales. Interdisciplinary research beyond the state of the art will be coupled with the transfer of knowledge and technology to key business sectors: oil and gas, physical security and transportation. This will provide a sound foundation for the creation and development of smart, cost effective, safe and environmentally friendly structures and products.

Our Vision

To establish a world-leading centre for multi-scale testing, modelling and simulation of materials and structures for industrial applications

Our Objective

To provide a research and technology platform for the creation and development of smart, cost effective, safe and environmentally friendly structures and products through multi-scale testing, modelling and simulation.

ICILSM 2020

CASA and the research group SIMLab will host the 3rd International Conference on Impact Loading of Structures and Materials in 2020. Visit the conference website for more information.
