Biocatalysis in organic chemistry

  • Master students Sigve Eliassen (now teacher at Herslebs videregående skole in Oslo) and Pål Bøckmann (right) are explaining the practical use of NMR spectroscopy for determination of the structure of organic compounds at the NMR lab.

  • Gas chromatography (GC) analysis is crucial in the analysis of organic reaction mixtures. Master student Erik Tveit explains the concept to Arash, Danita, and Malin.

  • Master student Ingvild Teigen Lund is preparing the titration burette for video shoot, behind Eirik Wattengård and Niklas Eriksson from MMS installing the camera.

Dr Jacobsen has been a Norwegian Management committee member in Systems Biocatalysis (COST action CM1303) funded by HORIZON2020.

The collaboration between 90 European research groups is a platform that will be instrumental for the training of the next generation of researchers in cutting-edge biocatalysis technologies and for the rapid translation of results into value creation by European industries.

She is also and one of three Norwegian members in the Scientific committee of European Federation of Biotechnology, Section on Applied Biocatalysis (ESAB)
