Amy Eva Sanne Svensson
About
I am a PhD researcher in history and a part of the project “Petitions and Petitioning in the Nascent Democracy: Norway in the Long 19th Century.” In my dissertation, I examine Norwegian petitioning culture through petitions submitted to the Parliament, the Storting, during the 19th century. The dissertation examines the use of petitions in the development of a participatory culture and in conjunction with Norwegian democratization.
My research interests include political culture and the history of democracy. I am also interested in the 19th‑century Norwegian Civil Servant State and civil servants' notions of honor.
