About

I am a PhD candidate in Computer Science at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), with a Master’s degree in the same field from NTNU, completed in 2020. My research lies at the intersection of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Artificial Intelligence, and Technology-Enhanced Learning, with a strong emphasis on applied machine learning and multimodal learning analytics.

My doctoral work focuses on how real-time multimodal data such as eye-tracking, heart rate variability (HRV), and stress indicators can be used to understand and support students’ cognitive and emotional states during programming education. Through controlled experiments and mixed-methods analyses, I study how gaze patterns and physiological stress responses differ between novice and more proficient learners, as well as between individuals and collaborative groups.

In particular, my research investigates how adaptive feedback mechanisms informed by real-time gaze and stress data can improve learning outcomes, reduce cognitive overload, and foster productive self-regulated learning. I combine empirical experimentation with data science and statistical modeling to derive actionable insights from complex time-series data. My work is driven by a practical goal: enabling intelligent educational systems to proactively respond to learners' needs by recognizing when and how they struggle.

I am also interested in the broader implications of multimodal learning data for understanding collaboration quality, learner expertise, and group dynamics in educational contexts. My contributions span the development and evaluation of learning technologies that leverage multimodal feedback systems, and predictive modeling of learning behavior.
