About

Anders Strømberg is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Electronic Systems where he completed his PhD thesis in 2024. He has an M.Sc. in Nanotechnology from NTNU, specializing in nanoelectronics, metamaterials and nanomagnetism. His work is as a part of the COMET group, an interdisciplinary group combining computer science and nanofabrication and characterization of magnetic artificial spins for Computational Magnetic Metamaterials. Strømberg is an experimentalist and works with nanofabrication, particularly Electron Beam Lithography, and advanced magnetic characterization techniques such as Magnetic Force Microscopy, MOKE microscopy, and synchrotron-based methods. His research interests also involves computer modeling of nanomagnetic and nanoelectronic systems. 

In 2025 he won the Chorafas Prize in Physics, awarding him as the best PhD candidate at NTNU.

From 2026 he has been serving as the Temporary Scientific Employee Representative at the Department of Electronic Systems and is a part of the department leader group.

  • COMET: Computational Magnetic Metamaterials

SOCRATES: Self-Organizing Computational Substrates

SOCRATES is a long-term time horizon project seeking radical breakthroughs toward efficient and powerful data analysis available everywhere, from the simplest sensor node to the most complex supercomputer.

SpinENGINE: Harnessing the Emergent Properties of Nanomagnet Ensembles for Massively Parallel Data Analysis

The SpinENGINE project will lay the foundations for a new, massively parallel, platform based on emergent behavior in nanomagnet ensembles.

SPrINTER

The SPrINTER project will create the foundation of a radically new technology for batteryless intermittent computing devices required for a sustainable digital society.
