Ann Christin Andersen
About
I am employed as an Associate Professor (50%) at RKBU, NTNU. I completed my PhD in Medicine and Health Sciences in May 2023. The study in my dissertation was part of the project “Young and ADHD”, in which we evaluated a group-based cognitive behavioral therapy program for adolescents with ADHD. Among other things, I examined treatment effects/outcomes one year after completion, satisfaction and feasibility of the group program, as well as executive function difficulties among the study participants.
I am also employed as Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist and Medical Advisor at the Department of Child and Adolescent Mental Health at Møre and Romsdal Health Trust. I lead a quality improvement project targeting children and adolescents diagnosed with ADHD who are starting medication as part of their treatment. In this project, we are testing a new workflow involving collaboration between ADHD nurse specialists and doctors, with the aim of improving resource use and increasing the quality of follow-up.
I am also the project leader for STAND Norway. STAND is a treatment manual for adolescents with ADHD, aimed at difficulties related to self-regulation, cooperation, and motivation. The program was developed by Margaret Sibley (USA), and we are currently translating worksheets and will pilot the treatment with a group of Norwegian adolescents during 2026.
