About

I have a background in physiotherapy and obtained my PhD at the Department of Physiotherapy at Macquarie University, Sydney (Australia). My research interest is in improving the management of musculoskeletal pain. My research experience spans from laboratory work in pain assessment (during PhD), clinical research (clinical trials), systematic reviews and, recently, epidemiological studies.

I currently hold a post-doctoral researcher position working on a project financed by the DAM foundation. In this project I use national health registry data linked with data from the HUNT Study to explore the influence of multimorbidity and family factors on important outcomes related to musculoskeletal pain management, i.e., sick leave, use of specialist healthcare and opioid medications.

I have been involved in various European-financed projects as researcher and/or research coordinator:

  • BackUP – Personalised prognostic models to improve well-being and return to work after neck and low back pain (2019-2022)
  • MOBILISE-D – Connecting digital mobility assessment to clinical outcomes for regulatory and clinical endorsement (2021-2024)
  • DE-PASS – Determinants of physical activities in settings (2020-2024)
