Antonio Vasilijevic
About
PhD in Electrical Engineering from University of Zagreb, Croatia. More than 25 years of experience in marine and maritime technologies across both industry and academia. Expertise includes marine and underwater robotics, subsea instrumentation, remote and virtual subsea operations, environmental monitoring, advanced human–robot interaction for underwater applications and lately autonomous persistent presence underwater, with a particular focus on subsea residency and resident underwater robotic systems.
Led and contributed to numerous national and international research and innovation projects in marine robotics, autonomous systems, and underwater sensing technologies. Collaborated extensively with universities, research institutes, and industry partners across Europe, contributing to large-scale EU-funded initiatives and experimental offshore deployments.
Extensive experience in laboratory and research infrastructure management, including strategic planning and development, acquisition of competitive research funding, project coordination, budgeting and financial oversight, management of technical assets and multidisciplinary research and engineering teams. Experienced in coordinating collaboration between academia, industry, and research partners to support applied research and technology development.
