Arne Johan Pollestad
About
Arne Johan Pollestad is a PhD candidate in Real Estate Finance at the NTNU Business School. His research focuses on automated valuation models, house price uncertainty, energy-efficient housing, climate risk, and ESG, reflecting his interest in topics at the intersection of real estate finance, technology, and sustainability.
Pollestad holds an MSc in Economics and Business Administration from the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH), with a specialization in Business Analytics. Following his MSc, he joined NTNU as a researcher and lecturer while pursuing his PhD. He has taught in courses at both graduate and doctoral level, including Data Science, Big Data in Real Estate Finance, and Forecasting Methods in Economics and Finance. Additionally, he has co-supervised master’s theses for students specializing in both Business Analytics and Finance at NTNU.
His research has been featured in field-leading academic journals such as the Journal of Real Estate Finance and Economics. Pollestad also contributes to the academic community as a reviewer for prominent journals like the Journal of Real Estate Research.
In 2024, he was honored with a prestigious Fulbright Norway academic grant to support a six-month research stay in the United States.
