Associate Professor in biology and teaching and learning of science with a dr.scient. degree in ecology

I have been teaching didactics in natural science at teacher education since 1999. From 2009 until 2013, I was the head of NTNU’s program, “Kompetanse i Skolen” (“Competence in School”). Thereafter, from 2013 until 2016, I was the head of the Department of Teacher Education at NTNU. 

My main research interest is on how learning can be facilitated and contextualized through practical activity in school. Lately I have also focused on how digital technology can facilitate teaching and learning in higher education.
