Damian Brzozowski
About
PhD candidate in the Functional Materials and Materials Chemistry research group (FACET) at the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, NTNU. Damian's research involves fabrication of magnetic oxide/topological insulator thin film heterostructures by pulsed laser deposition, and investigating emergent magnetic properties of the system.
The main experimental techniques:
- pulsed laser deposition (PLD),
- x-ray diffraction (XRD) and reflectivity (XRR),
- x-ray magnetic circular/linear dichroism (XMCD/XMLD),
- polarized neutron reflectometry (PNR).
The work is supervised by Assoc. Prof. Ingrid Hallsteinsen and Prof. Dennis Meier.
Damian obtained his master's degree in Nanotechnology from the Gdańsk University of Technology, Poland. The master project focuses on optimizing the synthesis, and characterizing the physical properties of nickel-based Heusler compounds containing lithium.
