In my PhD project I am exploring the international entanglements of the Norwegian salmon farming industry and how to secure democratic governance, responsibility, and sustainability. The project utilises land-based salmon farming as a case to examine how knowledge is constructed in policy development processes with the goal of providing an answer to the question: How to democratically govern aquaculture sustainably? This is done through a case study that maps actors, interests, and discourses to show the role of power relations in the construction and use of knowledge in policy development processes.
My research interests are connected to environmental sociology, sustainable food production and discourse analysis.
