Research

My two main areas of research:

  • Cold-adaptations in ectotherms – How cold-blooded organisms survive body temperatures below the melting point of their body fluids.
  • Toxicity of CO2 at Oceanic depth – Marine biological/physiological effects of leakage of CO2 from subsea storage.

Subjects explored in the research include  nucleation theory, Hofmeister-effects, solubility of substances and gasses, the Kelvin-effect, colligative properties of solutions, osmosis, electrochemical gradients.
