Farshad is a dedicated automation engineer with expertise in control engineering and optimization, particularly in energy systems applications. He earned his PhD through a dual program at Sharif University of Technology (Iran) and The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Hong Kong) . Following his PhD, he worked at the Institute of Data Science at the University of Hong Kong, focusing on computational optimal transport and large-scale linear programming.
Farshad’s current research focuses on addressing the key question: how can we achieve sustainable solutions for autonomous shipping? His work involves developing algorithms for safety, optimal path planning, and sustainability in autonomous maritime systems. The research encompasses the design of control system architectures, model development with an emphasis on computational efficiency and accuracy, and algorithm design.
